Freelance Virtual Assistant

My name is Kathryn Webb and I am a freelance Virtual Assistant in Yorkshire. I have 20 years experience of working as a board level Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant within some of the biggest and most recognisable businesses in the UK, including ASDA, IBM, KPMG and Arthur Andersen. I have also worked within a number of smaller local businesses, giving me experience of many different industries and working practices.

Using my vast breadth of skills and experience, I can offer you a stress free, organised and efficient way of getting those time consuming tasks done. I work freelance, meaning there are no overhead expenses associated with hiring a full time or part time employee.

About

With many companies having limited desk space and only requiring occasional or seasonal staff, I can provide cost effective remote support to businesses and individuals.  From my home office I offer the same high level of service that I provided throughout my professional career.

I am self-motivated with effective time management and communication skills, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.  My Business Management degree gave me a solid grounding for the career path I have chosen.

In my spare time I love running, and run regularly with my club.  I take part in my local ‘park run’ when I can, and regularly attend an adult ballet class.  My main passion is photography – from a very young age I could be found with a camera round my neck, and to this day I carry a camera with me!

Rates

Costs are always discussed in advance with you depending on the scope of work. I offer three options for engaging my services to suit you and your business needs.

By the hour

If you prefer a flexible arrangement for ad hoc tasks, this is the best route for you.  I charge an hourly rate of £36, rounded up or down to the nearest 15 minutes.  I track my hours and send you a time report with your invoice so you can see a full breakdown.

By the project

If you have a specific piece of work or project that you’d like me to do, we can agree the cost of this together.  This cost would include any additional costs incurred, such as letters and documents that may need printing and posting.

Retainer

Depending on the type of work I do with you, it may be simpler to agree to pay for a set amount of hours every month.  I then keep track of my time and keep you informed when you’re nearing your limit.

If you’re not sure which of these will be best for you, let’s have a chat to discuss.

Kathryn is one of the most reliable, diligent and hard-working people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.  She is incredibly organised and passionate about everything she does.  Kathryn and I worked together for 8 years, during which time she consistently delivered an exceptional standard of work.  Her professionalism and confidentiality were exemplary, and I would have no hesitation recommending Kathryn in her new capacity as virtual assistant.

Over the last few months Kathryn has supported me on a number of projects, including organising an away day, tidying up PowerPoint slides and various Word documents, and undertaking online competitor research.  Each time she took the brief, asked pertinent questions and delivered to a very high standard within the agreed timescales.  Her experience of working with senior executives is visible – she is confident, discrete, knowledgeable and approachable.  I’ll definitely continue to use Kathryn’s services, and would definitely recommend her to anyone thinking of using a virtual assistant.

Kathryn worked with me as an Executive Assistant in early 2016.  During this time, her duties included, but were not exhaustive to; dealing with emails and correspondence, comprehensive diary management, arranging travel and accommodation, collating and managing business expenses, preparing monthly board reports, attending meetings and taking actions.

Kathryn was a diligent, competent employee who performed her tasks in a timely manner and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her expert assistance.

Gareth Henderson

Kathryn recently organised an away day for my team.  She sourced a perfect local venue, arranged the refreshments for throughout the day, and even provided us with our ice-breakers!  The service she offered was excellent, to budget and within the deadlines agreed –  she took my brief and followed it perfectly.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Virtual Webb work?
I work virtually, from my fully equipped home office.  This means that you only pay for the actual time that I work for you.  That’s it!  No National Insurance, no sick pay or holiday pay for you to think about.
How do I build a relationship with Virtual Webb?
Each and every client is different!  Although we won’t be in the same office, technology makes it easy for us to stay connected.  Some clients like to have regular updates via Skype.  Others like to have a daily update phone call, and some are quite happy with a text or email update.  It’s up to you!  We can work this out together.
How do I ensure that I get the best from working with Virtual Webb?
Communication really is the key.  By ensuring I have a clear brief on your piece of work, along with your expected timescales, we can talk through this so we are both 100% clear with what is expected.
How often can I work with Virtual Webb?
As little or as often as you like!
How do I pay for the virtual assistant service?
Your business will be issued with an invoice, by email, for the hours worked on a month by month basis. Payment can be made by bank transfer or company cheque.
How will using Virtual Webb benefit my business?
Some of the key benefits of using this service are:

  • Frees up your essential time to focus on your business, while knowing the administration and the day to day tasks are taken care of.
  • You have control over the amount of hours you use Virtual Webb’s services on a month by month basis, saving your company money.
  • No minimum number of hours required, which means the service can be used little or often as required.
  • You will not have the costly expense of a full time employee and providing equipment or office space.
  • As I’m self-employed, you do not need to worry about PAYE, sick pay or absence.
  • You only get billed for the amount of time worked, or the project rate, depending on what was initially agreed.
I’d like to work with Virtual Webb. What do I do next?
Great!  The next step is for us to meet up, perhaps over a coffee, over the phone or on Skype – whichever you’d prefer.  You can talk through an outline of the work you’d like me to do, I can understand how you’d like to be kept updated, along with how long I anticipate the task/project will take.
What about confidentiality?
It goes without saying that every piece of work or task undertaken will remain completely confidential.  If required, I’m happy to sign a confidentiality agreement.
I’ve never worked with a virtual assistant before; will you be able to help me?
Absolutely!  Many clients have never used a service like mine before.  We can talk through what will happen at our initial consultation, and I’ll explain how to get the most out of my service.
Where are Virtual Webb based?
I am based in Halifax, West Yorkshire and naturally cover the local business centres of Halifax, Huddersfield, Brighouse, Leeds and Bradford.  However, due to the nature of my business I work for clients all over the UK.
